Are animal rights respected in Poland?

I don’t think that animal rights are properly respected in Poland. In the eyes of the law, animal is a living creature that feels and can suffer and is not a thing, so it shouldn’t be treated as such. Even though animal rights are so clearly stated according to the Polish law, animal cruelty is still very common. For example even in the news, we often hear about people abandoning or torturing their pets. That’s because when people decide to buy an animal or give them as a present without thinking about it, that’s what can happen. People should be aware of the consequences of owning a pet before actually getting it. Summing up, I don’t think that animal rights are respected in Poland and we can find examples proving that point, e. g. in news.

  1. **People should be aware of the consequences of owning a pet before actually getting it.
This sentence is unnecessary as it changes the tone of your paragraph. Instead of describing and explaining, you start giving ethical recommendations. It also repeats what was already said before.
